Interested in becoming an OSARCC volunteer?
We're looking for women who are able be proactive and run events to raise much needed funds to continue our work. Fundraising volunteers will be asked to attend our fundraising sub group which runs every other month on a Wednesday evening.
Fundraising volunteers will be supported to assist with OSARCC organised events and encouraged to plan and run their own events in conjunction with the staff team. Opportunities to undertake other forms of volunteering will also be advertised to fundraising volunteers when these become available. Hours are flexible and the role can be tailored to fit around your commitments.
We are the only specialist service in the Oxfordshire area for female survivors of rape and sexual abuse. The fundraising volunteers are vital to ensure that as many women and girls in Oxfordshire know how to access the service as possible to raise much needed funds to ensure we can maintain the delivery of our support services.
Helpline volunteers are recruited bi-annually to help run our telephone and email support services. Full training will be provided and we look for women who are sympathetic to our principles and who are team players. We require volunteers to have a good level of English and they must be able to be involved for a minimum of 18 months. The next training round will be later in 2017 - please contact us for the more information.
Counselling Volunteers - currently open
We are currently looking for qualified counsellors or those in their 3rd year of a BACP (or equivalent) accredited diploma and above to provide support through our new face-to-face counselling service. Full training in supporting survivors of sexual violence is provided. Committed volunteers are required to give between 12 - 18 hours of time per month, for at least 18 months and have 50 hours worth of counselling experience.
The next training commences in July 2017. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
